In order to do something extraordinary, you don’t need to change the world.
You don’t need to start a million dollar business, accomplish an athletic feat, or have a perfectly maintained Instagram feed.
You just need to do something extra than what is ordinary for you.
Extraordinary is a sliding, subjective scale, unique to each individual person.
The truth is, we were made to do extraordinary things.
And we have the capability inside us right now to do something extraordinary. We just need to use the correct definition of extraordinary.
You ate healthy for a full day for the first time in years? That’s extraordinary.
You didn’t check your ex’s Twitter today? Extraordinary.
You let yourself make a mistake? You tried something new? You showed up? Extraordinary extraordinary extraordinary.
And when you start doing extraordinary things, you want to start doing more extraordinary things.
“Today I ate healthy. Wow, that was a big accomplishment. You know what I’m going to do next? I’m going to start training for a half-marathon.”
“Today I told someone I think I’m depressed. That was terrifying and awkward and actually made me feel a bit hopeful. I think I’m going to set up an appointment with a counselor now.”
So do something extraordinary today, and give yourself credit for it. Acknowledge the ability you have to do extraordinary things.
You already are an extraordinary person. Let that person loose a little.
